Alpha Psi Rho (ΑΨΡ, also known as APsiRho ) is an Asian/Pacific Islander-interest fraternity built on brotherhood, self-empowerment and involvement in the community.

Asian and Pacific Islander-Americans were struggling to find their identities in American Society. While some found prosperity in gangs others pursued higher education becoming capable gentlemen in the community. The Founding Fathers at San Diego State University became involved in cultural organizations, however, they wanted to be around people who have similar interests, living a similar lifestyle, and interested in making greater impacts in the community—a sense of involvement that never existed and a brotherhood like no other. In 2000, the Ten Founding Fathers founded Alpha Psi Rho at San Diego State University. Though to assimilate the intimidating image that Alpha Psi Rho holds, it is not common to find a member with an urban low-income lifestyle. In order to perserve true brotherhood it is important for the brothers to remain true to their past.
Dedicated to building "high-caliber men", Alpha Psi Rho is very involved in its communities: the cultural community, the community in which it lives in, and the Greek community. Alpha Psi Rho is involved yearly in cultural festivals, activist marches, and fundraiser walks. Day-to-day, members participate with supporting community youth organizations, other collegiate organizations, and organizing community events. Alpha Psi Rho thrives by following its mission statement, the mantra of "Always Be Bold And Strong ΑΒΒΑΣ," and its four pillars of Brotherhood, Academics, Prosperity and Strength.
“We, the Gentlemen of Alpha Psi Rho, strive to achieve Brotherhood through active participation in the community by promoting Asian/Pacific Islander awareness. Through fostering scholastic achievement, we shall mold future leaders who will actively pursue the apex of life. Our cultural background shall provide us with the strength and unity to attain greatness. Through brotherhood, we will produce high-caliber men who will be triumphant in the face of perseverance. We are the Gentlemen of Alpha Psi Rho.”
